January 2023 Fire Council
The Fire Council Meeting on January 17, 2023 focused on the La Plata County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) update. We were joined by Alison Layman from La Plata County’s Office of Emergency Management to review the La Plata County CWPP. WAP, Alison, and the community came together to gain input and insight about the CWPP update, a process which relies on local input and cooperation from the community and it’s leaders. Ashley Downing (WAP Executive Director) and Alison Layman lead the discussion which involved communicating current challenges, current goals and strategies, maps, and more. Below is the recording of that meeting and the slide show which are a prime example of the process of updating a CWPP.
